Rhubarb Pie

So this is what we had for dessert tonight... not bad eh?  I don't often bake but even I was impressed with my "bakingness" this time!  The lattice work turned out to be easier than I thought; and while my husband "wowed" the taste, I was more caught up in its' presentation; 'cause didn't you know, it's all about the presentation?

Bug Art

These are two mixed media pieces that I made for a friend's daughter's room.  Her daughter's room is pink and my friend wanted a design with a chocolate brown background.   I think that they turned out really well.

Baby Burp Cloths

Over the weekend, I managed to make a few of these great burp cloths for a friend who is expecting any day.  I got the idea and pattern for these from Jill on her blog.  While I don't profess to be a gifted sewer, I think they turned out rather well; and I love the idea of giving someone a handmade gift.

'Jester' Fondant Cake

So, this is the final product!  My sister and I had a lot of fun making this funky cake.  We were inspired by those "jester" cakes we have seen around lately - mostly in the wedding circuit.  We thought we would give it a try.

We were pleasantly surprised at how easy it turned out to be.  Since we made the fondant from scratch (much cheaper than buying the premade stuff), it tasted just like marshmallows!  Yum!  I think we will try a square cake next.  Gotta practice for my sister's wedding...

Yet another snowy day which makes me feel like making a cup of hot chocolate and sitting down with a good book.  Possible?  Of course not.  Being the mother of two healthy, busy little boys means there is rarely any downtime if at all.
